| Schooner Stephen Taber Boat Overview: The Schooner Stephen Taber, the oldest documented sailing vessel in continuous service in the US, operates 3, 4 and 6-day sailing vacations off the coast of Maine. We sail around the Penobscot Bay, exploring its beautiful waters, islands and wildlife.
This historic windjammer was built in 1871 and still has no inboard engine. A trip on the Taber offers people a uniquely authentic adventure rarely experienced in this day and age.
Passengers can help sail the boat if they wish or they can sit, read and take in the magnificent beauty of the Maine coast.
Food is our specialty: All of our meals are prepared on the galley's 1910 vintage woodstove and are guaranteed to hit the spot. Freshly baked breads, homemade stews and chowders, fresh local seafood and Maine blueberry pancakes are all a part of life on the Taber.
The highlight of each trip is the Downeast all-you-can-eat lobster bake cooked and served on a secluded beach. |
